INFORMATION OF DEEPAVALI.WHEN AND WHT ITIS CELEBRATED ALL OVER INDIA AND THE WODLD...........

Deepavali

The festival of India

celebrate India
It is a five-day Hindu festival, which occurs on the fifteenth day of kartika.Deepavali means a "row of lighted lamps"or the Festival of Lights.
According to legends,it is the day when Lord Ram,Sita and Lakshmana returned to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. The citizens considered that with their return to Ayodhya, there was return of happiness, peace and harmony as well. For this home-coming,lamps of peace were lit in the city.On that day, every years lamps are lit across the country.
Another story is that it is the day Lord Krishna killed Naraka-asura   -the demon of sorrow and hell  -who had Kidnapped and imprisoned  16,000 princesses for his harem. it is the day when the selfish  ego, which has entrapped all the 16,000 thought varieties,is killed and all thoughts get wedded to the one Infinite -Blissful  -Consciousness -Krishna paramaatma.
For this knowledge, lamps of joy are lit.It is the day we harvest the the results of our hard work blessed with wealth by Mother Lakshmi.
In different parts of India,Deepavali is celebrated differently.Generally, the festival begins with Dhanteras,a day set aside to worship Lakshmi.
On the second day,Naraka chaturdashi-Kali,the Goddess of Strength,is worshipped.
On the third day, Deepavali (the last day of the year in the lunar calendar),lamps are lit, gifts exchanged and crackers burst.
On the forth day of Deepavali, old business accounts are settled and new books are opened,
On the final day (Balipratipada)of the festival, Bali, an ancient Indian king is recalled.Bali had destroyed centuries old philosophies of the society. However,he is remembered for being a generous person. Thus, the focus of this day is to see the good in others, even in our enemies.

THE GREAT RAJPUT KING MAHARANA PRATAP.............

MAHARANA PRATAP
Maharana Pratap was a great Raj put King. The Raj puts are a brave and a chivalrous race, who were feudal kings in ancient India before the Mughals came.Akbar wanted to control the whole of India and used a Mix of tolerance, generosity and force to overcome the Raj put Kings. One of the most gallant Raj put Kings who resisted the Mughals, was Rana Pra tap.
Rana pratap led the Rajputs against the army of Akbar to preserve the independence of Mewar. Rana pratap not only had to face the mighty Mughals, but also had to fight against other Rajput Kings(Raja Toder Mal and Raja Man Singh)who aligned with the Mughals.
In the Battle of Haldighati(1576) fought between Maharana pratap and the Mughals;the Rajputs were not  able to overcome the combined strength of the Mughals and the renegade Rajput princes.Maharana pratap was badly hurt in the battle and was saved by his wise horse, Chetak. who took in an unconscious state away from the battle scene.Later,he gathered the Bhil tribals and formed an army to fight the Mughals. But his attempts to liberate Chittaur remained unfulfilled Rana pratap died in 1597.
Though Maharana Pratap was not able to thwart the Muslims successfully, the saga of Rajput resistance to Mughal rule continued. And finally around the 17 th century, the baton of the struggle for Indian Independence from Mughals was taken up by the upcoming power of the Marathas, who brought about an end to Mughal domination of India.

ADVERTISEMENT WHICH YOU LIKE THE MOST AND WHY...........

When the word "advertisement" comes the mind most indians would associate it with the boring 15-20 commerical ads on our screen during the break in our programs, not peake your interest but advertise are starting display on your screen

Advertising encourages consumers to buy in quantity rather than promoting quality. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Whether it is on TV, radio or hoardings at the side of the road, advertisements have become a part of our lives. Advertising is a powerful and persuasive medium. I agree with the former half of the given statement that adverts encourage people to buy in quantity.

On the one hand, advertisements make us pile up things in the home which we may never ever use. For example, we get lured by the one-on-one scheme that companies promote just to sell their old stock in bulk. For example, recently, I bought three pairs of jeans of Levis brand because there was a two-on-one offer.

There is an increasing amount of advertising directed at children which encourages them to buy goods such as toys and snacks. Many parents are worried that these advertisements put too much pressure on children, while some advertisers claim that they provide useful information to children.

It is not difficult to see why parents worry is justified. Admittedly, in sensitive areas such as the toy industry, the parents have a point. Because children under a certain age lack abilities to make wise judgment as to what they really want. They are attracted by colourful pictures on advertisement and swayed by misleading information. So they pester their parents to buy those things and this can upset the budget of many families. Even the advertisements of fast foods are bad for children. Children cannot understand that the slim-trim models advertising Mac Donalds burgers hardly ever eat such foods themselves. They are attracted to fast foods and these are very detrimental for their health.

Whether it is on TV, radio or hoardings at the side of the road, advertisements have become a part of our lives. Advertising is a powerful and persuasive medium. Consumers are influenced by advertisements in both positive and negative ways. This essay shall delve into the ways adverts affect the common man and suggest ways to protect people from the negative effects of adverts.

On the positive side ads tell us about the new products that are launched in the market. They also tell us about the working of these products. After seeing the ads, consumers can go to the market and select things of their choice. What is more, the advertising industry provides jobs to many. Ads also touch social issues.

Nowadays, a large amount of advertising is aimed at children, so some people think there are lots of negative effects on children, and should ban it. To what extent you agree or disagree?

Advertisements are ubiquitous nowadays and especially advertising targeting children who are considered vulnerable target by companies. As a result, many parents are worried about this phenomenon. However, we cannot ban advertisements because they serve a lot of useful purposes as well.

Admittedly, in sensitive areas such as the toy industry, some censorship should be there to limit children’s access to excess advertisement. This is because children under a certain age lack abilities to make wise judgment as to what they really want. Finally, children try to copy the stunts which can be disastrous for them.

QUOTATION ON NATIONAL EMBLEM OF INDIA,WHEN ADOPTED BY GOVERNMENT OF INDIA

 NATIONAL  EMBLEM

The national emblem is an adaptation from Sarnath, the lion capital of Ashoka.

In the original ,there are four lions, standing back to back, mounted on an abacus with a frieze carrying sculptures of an elefhant,a galloping horse , a bull and a lion sepreated by intervining wheel over a bell-shaped lotus. Carved out of a single block of polished sandstone, the capital is crowned by the wheel of the Law ,Dharma Chakra .

In the state emblem adopted by the Government of India on January 26 ,1950 ,only three lions are visible, the fourth is hidden form view .The wheel appears as a relief in the centre of the abacus with a bull on the right and a horse on the left, and the outlines of the other wheels on the extreme right and left.

It inspires us to march along the path of dharma slogging like a bull yet remaining swift as a horse. The bell - shaped lotus has been omitted .The words satyameva jayate-from mundaka Upanishad, meaning Truth Alone Triumphs-are inscribed below the abacus in the Devanagari script.

Information On Sun Temple Situated In Konark

 SUN TEMPLE

(KONARK)
mystic India

The Supreme achievement of Orissa's  architectural genius is the Sun Temple at Konark, about 32 Kms north-east of Puri, which was built during the reign of the eastern Ganga King Narasimha Deva1,(1238-1264).

The great tower of this temple, which must have stood over 60  m  high, has fallen but the assembly hall is still intact. The Konark temple is conceived of as a 'rath' or chariot of the Sun God,drawn by seven caparisoned horses. The base of the temple is an immense terrace with twelve giant Wheels, each  3  m  high,on either side. On the raised platform, was thus created the temple building-erected in the conjoined parts forming the sanctum and the vestibule. The nat-mandir and the bhog -mandir were separate structures, all enclosed with a courtyard measuring 263.6 m by 164.5 m.

Exquisite sculptures embellished the immense outer surfaces of this architectural masterpiece. The exterior has been chiselled and moulded either into abstract designs or fantastic human and animal forms. The sculptures, executed in hard stone, are large, vigorous and full of warmth. Some of them depict erotic themes. These controversial love themes are later day encrustations on the mystic symbolism of Hindu religion, which in its more popular manifestations has absorbed and attributes mystic significance to sex,.
