 AWARDS AND HONORS

 INTRODUCTION

India,as we have stated throughout this blog,is a land of excellence.Our countrymen have been exceptional achievers in various fields of activity,which range from sports and gallantry to arts and science.
The country gives away a number of awards to honor great citizens ,both men and women,whose actions and deeds have made the country proud and happy.These awards play an important role in our national life,as they prove not only to be a source of encouragement for the extra ordinary,but also an inspiration for the ordinary.

BHARAT RATNA

The president of India gives away the Bharat Ratna Award ,the highest civilian honor for exceptional service towards advancement of art,literature and science,and in recognition of public service of the highest order.

PADMA AWARDS

Padma Awards namely,Padma Vibhushan,Padma Bhushan and Padma Shree are given for exceptional and distinguished service of high order in any field.The Padma Awards are announced on the eve of Republic Day.

BRAVERY AWARD

National Bravery Award was started in 1957 by the Indian Council for Child Welfare.The award recognizes and honors children who perform outstanding deeds of bravery and selfness sacrifice.

GALLANTRY AWARD

Gallantry Award-The Ashok Chakra series of awards are open to civilian.These awards are biannual and are given on Republic Day and Independence Day.

SAHITYA ACADEMY AWARD

Sahitya Academy Award was instituted in the year 1954.These awards recognize the most outstanding books of literary merit published in any of the major India languages.

DADA SAHEB AWARD

Dada Saheb Phalke is the founder of the world's largest Industry.The most prestigious award of the Indian Film Industry is named after him.

DRONACHARYA AWARDS

Daronacharya Awards was instituted in 1985 to honor eminent coaches,who have outstandingly and consistently to the highest performance in international events

ARJUNA AWARD.

Arjuna Award was instituted in 1961 as the highest national recognition for outstanding performance in sports and games at the international level.
